The moon shone through the bedroom window, falling upon a young mans face. He slowly lifted himself up and rubbed his eyes, then placing his hand in front of the window, slightly closing his eyes to block the brightness. “Why can’t it be night still!” he said as he shoved the covers off of him, so he could get up. He walked over to the blinds and closed them fully; he stretched and let out a yawn, going over to the door of the bedroom. He grasped the latch and turned it, pulling backwards and releasing more light into the room. He walked out into the hall way and started walking down it. He stopped and took a right turn, only to come into a small area with a kitchen, e man turned around and waved happily “Hello, Kaen!” said the man as Kaen waved at him “Hey Dad” he said as he walked over to a small table and yawned again. He sat down on a chair and looked back at his Dad “So, Dad, when is breakfast today?” he asked as the man smiled and showed the pit to Kaen, it was spicy noodles, Kaen’s favorite. The man smiled and walked over to Kaen’s sitting area and put it into a bowl “This ramen is my special breakfast one! Tsuru’s ultimate supreme helping breakfast all you can eat!” he said as Kaen smiled “Thanks” he said as Tsuru nodded and walked over to the kitchen, making more. All of the sudden, a newspaper flopped onto the carpet at the front door. Kaen got up, and walked over to the newspaper, he opened it and the headline made Kaen’s eyes widen, Shurtaru (Mayor) heading into town on Nichiyoubi (Sunday) to pick graduates, Pick graduates, what does that mean? Kaen said in his head as he looked over to his dad who was smiling and looking down into his pot, cooking. Kaen slowly opened the door and looked at a huge mountain that stood at the front of the village “Buriza-do Mountain, home of Lord Shurtaru and the Serene Seven…” he said, closing the door and walking over to his Dad. “Hey, Dad, can you tell me of that story, of Ancient Tsuchi?” he asked as his Dad nodded and led him over to the couches in the living room, he sat him down and smiled, then nodded “Okay” he said smiling.

“On January first, Massakari Noichi built Kaben Palace, on Buriza-do Mountain-top. Her twin sister, Osozaki hated Massakari so much, that she killed her while she was sleeping, well, not exactly. When Oso (Osozaki’s nickname) tried to kill Massakari, sakura blooms started to flow in through the window, when Oso’s knife was close to touching Massakari’s heart; over one billion petals flew in between the two. The petals protected Massakari. Massakari began waking up, the petals surrounding her and giving her more ene (Energy), Massakari new how to save everyone in suta-raito (Starlight) village, she had to use the Forbidden seal. She arose to her feet and clapped her hands together, purple ene started to flow form her body and she closed her eyes, everything went silent ‘Koumajutsu waza: Kame!!!!!!!!!!!’ she screamed as her eyes glowed purple and pink, her whole body flowing with ene, all of the sudden, a huge explosion of smoke blew the castle to shreds, and where Massakari was once standing, a huge tortoise stood there, and Massakari on top, she closed her eyes and then opened them, speaking loudly ‘Power release!’ she said pointing two fists at Osozaki, and when all the villagers were watching, a huge flash of light covered the whole town. Then, the next morning when everyone woke up, they went outside and saw the palace still standing there, wondering if it was only a dream…”

Tsuru finished his story and got up. He walked over to the counter and began chopping carrots. Kaen got up and thanked him, then walked out of the house. Well he was on his way to school, he saw people whispering. He heard some of one persons conversation. “I….wait for….yo….get….her……because he’s so…….hey?” said the person as Kaen walked by, ignoring everything. He stopped and saw a sign on a fence. KABEN PALACE GRADUATES BEING PICKED TOMORROW! Said the sign as Kaen turned his head in confusion “Graduates?” he asked as he looked over to the mountain, where the palace stood. He remembered hearing something about the serene seven. Years ago, the serene seven were protectors to Osozaki and Massakari in their old palace in the land of Hachi. The serene seven had amazing powers, and then, one day, their powers got spread to other people, but the people who got them, only had half of the power the seven did. The seven were named…..

But, when King Suki and Queen Ashie died, so did the hearts of the seven. They split up and died, bu ttheir souls transferred into new bodies, in a new era, Kaen’s era, as well as the Second Seven. The only known ‘seven’ right now were Umi Kaikanaka, who lived in the temple, he was the Tokage (Lizard/Dragon) Seven, he was also known as the Shurtaru.
